Chat is one interface

Reports, dashboards, drafts, workflow proposals and inline assistants are others — and usually better fits.

Chatbots are easy to demo. Useful AI systems need structure, sources, workflows, governance, and a clear relationship to the work people actually do.

Treating chat as the default interface is a category error. Most knowledge work happens inside other surfaces: documents, spreadsheets, project boards, dashboards, briefings, meetings. The right place for AI is usually inside those surfaces, not in a separate window asking the user to start over.
